Pros

Are there any at CH2 anymore

Cons

CH2 is no longer the company it used to be.. good employees are having their hours cut so they are forced to quit and therefore CH2 does not have to pay unemployment.. employees that should have been fired, especially the manager that cost CH2 millions because of their incompetence is still employed because of their race/sex.. CH2 needs to understand that an EOE company means just that, equal employment for ALL not just minorities

Pros

The company provides flexible work hours.

Cons

I joined CH2M at the tail end of the company's long stretch of strong reputation and great workplace. Since the last founder died around 2009/10 the company completely lost its way, probably with no recovery from what it once was as it has been already partially sold out to a venture capitalists in order to rescue it. The company is management bloated. Not only too much management, but management that does not understand people and with no passion for the work. I could write pages here on the problems and issues that the company faces, but all I will say is that if you need a job to pay the mortgage, go for it but not a long term career company. You will have no prospects for advancements if you are not white, american born and male.

Thanks for your comment, it is disappointing to hear about but we we will of course share this with our management and HR teams. You’re right when you say the company ha changed. While we remain true to the values instilled by our founders, all great companies must evolve and adapt to the marketplace and the stakeholders they serve to be competitive. At 70 years young, we are on track, going strong and poised well for the future. We are also committed to creating a culture that is respectful, collaborative and positive. Diversity, equality and inclusion have long been strategic business imperatives for us. We’re dedicated to promoting a business culture that encourages every individual to contribute to the growth and business success of CH2M. That’s why we work hard to create a culture of inclusion for all our employees, regardless of their role or location.

Pros

Great people who want to do their best. Staff is absolutely committed to it's clients. Not only do staff want to do their best, but they are absolutely many of the best in the world in their respective disciplines. There is no doubt about this.

Cons

The CEO and senior management team have changed the heart and soul of the company. The new structure is really an EPC model that marginalizes the value of people and their relationships with clients and each other. Management says the opposite but that's just them trying to put a good spin on the restructure. Senior management is simply too far away from actually serving our clients and have followed the advice and direction from a relative newcomer to CH2M to lead BD activities and take her direction in restructuring the company to look like Jacobs. Unfortunately, Jacobs is principally an EPC firm not a consulting firm like CH. Senior leadership stresses how our restructuring is leading the market and the CH is the only firm using this new model. There's a good reason that no other consulting company follows this model. It's not new - it's just the wrong model for a consulting business. As a result of these changes, many top technical staff and managers have left and many, many more are weeks to a couple of months away from leaving. Leadership was "surprised" to see folks leaving in droves - literally. If our leadership really understood our clients and our business, this shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.
