Pros

CFP Board has clearly defined 5-year strategic priorities that are approved by its Board and that everyone is required to align their personal goals with. There is no ambiguity about your job, what you are being held accountable for, and how everyone's goals support the organization's strategic priorities. Everyone at the organization is bonus eligible in addition to annual merit pay. If you are dedicated to achieving your goals, you will be rewarded. There has been a lot of turnover in the past few years and for the better. New senior and executive leadership appear committed to supporting their teams, getting them the resources they need, and building an inclusive culture. Overall the benefits are great.

Cons

I wish the 401k had a better match. You also have to wait 5 years to get an extra week of vacation. Being in the office only two days a week, Wednesday is required for everyone, can make it difficult to build relationships but being able to work from home 2-3 days a week is a huge benefit.

Pros

CFP Board sets a high standard for performance but that expectation goes across the board. From entry level staff to the executive level, everyone is assigned goals to support the overall mission of the board. But equally, everyone shares in the incentives of meeting those goals. I also love that CFP Board really supports and encourages professional development. I'm at a place in my career where I still have a lot of learning to do and CFP Board is willing to invest in my learning and growth in ways I haven't been supported at previous jobs. When you work hard, it pays off and that really encourages engagement and commitment to the organization.

Cons

Change can be a bit slow going but I do realize it's because of the data driven nature of the organization. Things don't just happen on a whim around here, there has to be lots of data and support from the executive leadership team for things to move but it doesn't always happen quickly.
