Everyone is disposable

Pros

Lots of free food. Some of the people on the staff level are friendly and nice.

Cons

Stay far away. This organization does not value anyone. Staff at all levels are often overworked and bullied by toxic elements in the organization. There is a pervasive culture of working bright and talented staff ragged and rewarding underperforming or mediocre people because they are well liked by management. Get ready for a frustrating time trying to get anything done. Decisions are micro-managed to death and no one is truly empowered to get the ball moving on even the most basic tasks.

Pros

People at the staff level are generally good and pleasant to work with.

Cons

Management does not value staff. People who are strong performers are let go unceremoniously at the whims of senior management while others are kept in because they are well liked, despite underperforming. Managers often take advantage of staff’s willingness to work overtime and are ran into the ground in order to make themselves look good. For a place that likes to talk about promoting diversity and modernizing, the company has been hostile to women and minorities. Not to mention the company culture is stuck in past. Like someone else said, maternal and paternal leave is not an option so good luck having kids if you decide to take a job with this company. Company is top heavy with some very toxic people on management side who make life miserable for staff.

Pros

You will definitely learn what kind of organization you don't want to work for.

Cons

Overworked employees...to the point where it is now common knowledge among former employees that one employee was uncompensated for hundreds of hours worked. DoL needs to take a strong look at this place. Meetings are long and boring and irrelevant. At the monthly staff meeting, most people, including the CEO are on their phones texting or surfing the web. I've read about the compensation and benefits and I have to laugh as they have no maternity leave for their employees. Employees are expected to use their sick days and vacation.
