Pros

It's difficult to say, any minor pro to working here is offset by a con that's much worse. For example, there's air to breathe, but often times the ventilation system breaks down and you start feeling light-headed. There is a wealth of experienced technical staff but see below for the flip side.

Cons

When you barely innovate and keep selling the same product with measly updates, you see what I mean about changing the name to Titanic. A bunch of stubborn old men with their entourages of yes-men driving the company into collapse. "It worked before, it'll will work now", "clients will remember CAE's quality and come back to us", "we need to tighten our belts and save as much money as possible without investing in anything new". Cadillac had that approach too. These are senile, unfortunate views. Our "convergence" is nothing more than a changing a few titles and going through several reorganizations, they don't actually want to invest in proper improvements. What is really unfortunate is that it's most likely too late, we can only hope the Quebec government can spare some of that Bombardier bailout money for us.

Pros

Flexible hours, travelling, pay is not bad (but you have to ask for it).

Cons

Reorgs happen every 2-3 years and every time they think they're revolutionizing everything with whatever the hell they put on their powerpoint slides. Of course, with these reorgs comes a bunch of layoffs. Recently, they cut the per diem for travelers, so there's no more incentive for being far from your family and working your butt off for them. Also, in the recent months, I've seen a lot of contractors, instead of permanent employees. Although a lot of them are competent, they don't necessarily care about the company. They will not punch more than 40 hours, even when needed.

Pros

Good coworkers, flexible schedule, paid overtime.

Cons

Huge disconnect with upper management, middle management powerless. No more travel benefits. All benefits slowly being removed while management fills their pockets. People being forced into certain positions or laid off. Low pay, raises based on lottery and the "big" raise still isn't that great.
