Pros

You get a paycheck, and decent benefits. You have the option to work from home.

Cons

The work environment is extremely toxic. Someone once described the morale as a bunch of people walking around like their parents died. Upper management does not care about anyone's mental health. They will pile on the work and change your role without any discussion. You deal with unhappy members constantly. The service in the GTA is terrible and crooked tow truck drivers make matters worse. It's a wonder why some members even renew. Good luck trying to book a day off when you want. Senior management creates new new job titles out of the their butts so they can promote the employees that brown nose the best. The politics are sickening and exhausting. CAA used to have a great work environment. We used to have quarterly meetings which were a great opportunity to ask questions and get an update about how the company is doing and do a team building activity. These no longer happen. Coaching and team meetings are also frequently cancelled and never rescheduled. The annual holiday party was cancelled and replaced with a sales conference. Not the same thing at all. Give your employees a nice holiday party, like any other decent company. If you choose not to work from home, you will be pressured about it constantly. There was also an annual survey sent to all employees to give feedback about how management is doing. This does not happen any more. Even though that's one of the points mentioned in their employer of the year awards. I could probably go on forever. Basically, take it if you have too, but keep looking.

Cons

I was trying to see how much Pros I can give this company because it's honestly one of the worst companies to work for. If you care about your mental sanity DON'T WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! I worked here for a year and a half and I wish I quit sooner. The politics of this company is so twisted you will feel like you are stuck in a mental hospital trying to escape. Everything is black and white and the managers don't care for there employees. Your supervisor most likely is trying to climb the corporate leader since they are so stuck in this company they will not have your best intentions. For example, Marketing always sends out emails to our "Members" and 8/10 times they will not tell their staff what email is going to be sent out. Then when a Member calls in for a certain promotion front line workers won't know what the Member is talking about since they are never notified of anything. ( Even though there is a newsletter that is sent out every day). One time Marketing screwed up on an email and never put any terms and conditions on the promotion we had. The call centre got a lot of angry customers and those customers gave us a bad rating because of Marketing. I got a "coaching session" from my supervisor stating it was my fault because I got the phone call and she still has to mark me down as a fail on the call regardless if Marketing sent out the wrong email. Coaching sessions another useless strategy that upper management uses to keep employees stressed and depressed. You learn nothing at these so-called coaching sessions just a way for management to pick on you and tell you every bad thing you do. I never had a positive coaching session even though my reviews from customers were 85-90%. There is no growth to move up in this company only to move around. They don't treat call centre agents with any respect. They watch everything you do your computer screens, phones, and how long you been on a call! (Since they only care about the queues). Regardless if your job requires you to call customers back and build customer loyalty. Save your time and apply somewhere else! The job has a high turn over rate because it sucks. They try not to position the job as just a call centre job but it's just that. I rather work in India in a call centre, to be honest. One of the highlights of this working at CAA is you get extra benefits each year. This is not a benefit just an extra $500 to one paycheque that you will get taxed up the donkey on. No work-life balance! You will be depressed and stressing about coming into work even on your day off. Don't believe that fake 5-4 star reviews!
