Pros

-Free Parking -Free Basic Membership -Good Pension -Decent Benefits -Option to work from home -Systems were functional and optimal for the most part -Discounts were good and fair

Cons

-Pay is significantly below industry average -Integrity not rewarded for sales agents and policies that did not follow guidelines swept under the rug by management which lead to employees writing blatantly tainted policies to earn commission, who cares about FSCO right? -Blame environment when a bad policy/claim shows up, producers name get's thrown around in gossip mill -Underwriting department acts like a sorority club for old girls. Good luck showing interest. Correspondence with them has high undertone of condescension - HR is as flaky as they come. They will intentionally evade your phone calls and emails about a position despite you being an internal applicant. That is how they treat their valuable employees. -CAA will saturate you with the same old stories without doing anything industry changing. For example did you know that Jay Woo grew up poor and had nothing to eat as an adolescent? Of course you did because he will tell you as a way to connect with his employees from his ivory tower. Or how about that Travel Member whose policy expired and CAA still paid out their claim because CAA cares so much about member safety and yet leave so much to be desired when it comes to their front line staff. -Employee annual Christmas gala for 2016 was cancelled and the next day Jay Woo advertises that CAA donates 100k to his charity project Hope Air. This is CAA in a nutshell. - One of the supervisors in sales used to be a mediocre sales agent in his hay day - how can anyone take him seriously when he gives you advice on how to close a sale when he couldn't close a door if it was in front of him - Some people running the show don't even know the difference between broad form or comprehensive form if their life depended on it. I wish I was joking however CAA likes to hire higher-ups from different departments with zero knowledge of insurance. -Marketing department is a joke with no innovation on their part, the only way to make the phone rings is by paying the public to call our lines

Pros

Used to be a fun and rewarding place to work. Now it's more about sales wrapped in "caring about member safety" brainwashing propaganda.

Cons

A president who is a social recluse and socially awkward. Sees himself as a "saviour" always touting his brilliance. Highly political environment where each businesslike is fighting each other for attention, sales, funding and career growth. Steeped in antiquated and slow processes for everything that slow projects down like molasis. Inexperience and unknowledgeable people in charge of areas or projects that they are clearly unqualified for.

Pros

- standard pay - great co-workers - free membership - opportunity to upgrade skills through courses if management likes you

Cons

--low employee morale - highly political where you will do well if management likes you -the work-family balance applies to some employes but not everyone -very unprofessional, expect to be criticised and made fun of -high turnover in non customer service and support positions - too much negative gossip especially in one department that is always hiring and firing --no support from human resources where they were made aware of unprofessional, illegal and unethical behavior and NOTHING is done
