Pros

Great people, wonderful culture and legacy. Hard working teammates and an environment that makes you proud to work to work for the company.

Cons

There are some managers that have no business leading people. When you complain nothing gets done and it is very frustrating. Losing great talent because of this.

Pros

As someone who has relocated to Nashville in 2011, I can honestly say that I’ve built tremendous friendships with so many people with whom I worked at BRIDGESTONE. It has been 3 years since I resigned, but I am still friends with all of my former colleagues. I have visited the new building and it’s beautiful. The amenities are great. Speaking from personal experience along with what I have noticed across other departments- BRIDGESTONE gives its employees a fair amount of freedom and doesn’t monitor the length of lunch and other breaks. Not too stringent on arrival or departure hours. People are free to move around the building and stop by for a quick chat with a friend at any time. That was the best part.

Cons

The reason they are so lenient is most like because you work from dawn til dusk and if you have remote access- the weekends as well. Most people work into the night from home as well as when they are on vacation. The pay isn’t fair. Many recent grads get a starter pay higher than the people who have been in the company for years. Lots of favoritism everywhere. Lies and deceit are prominent throughout the company. Most people are overloaded with work and can’t even take a lunch break and have to eat at their desks. Can’t use the wonderful amenities that the building offers due to the workload. The management is terrible. Hardly any of them are familiar with the industry and actual operations.

Pros

Not a bad place to work if you are an uneducated hillbilly. If your only other previous adult work experience is working at a fast food restaurant you have a very good chance of moving to Nashville and running the IT department.

Cons

The entire organization is run by uneducated hillbillies who lack both a fundamental understanding of how to lead a team as well as what their team is supposed to be doing in the first place. It seems like the dumber you are the more arrogant you act. I'm not sure if it's to compensate for the lack of intelligence or to compensate for another certain shortcoming. In either case, this has been the most absurd place I have ever worked.
