Garbage COVID treatment

Pros

The people who work here truly want the best for the students and work tirelessly to make things happen. The benefits pre-COVID were good (including tuition reimbursement, MBTA discounts, etc.). The time off between Christmas and New Years is great. Their COVID testing is robust.

Cons

Boston University has decided they do not care in the slightest for their employees. We are being asked to put ourselves in unsafe situations, with little to no communication. We as faculty and staff are being asked to problem solve and carry immense burdens, while leadership works from home and passes problems downwards. There is no responsibility on their part, and they are fully ready to point fingers when something goes wrong (either at students or employees). We are being told there is no overtime to be paid but are expected to do triple the work we’ve done just because. Barely even a thank you. They are money hungry and looking to be the university that handled COVID best. Meanwhile, the people on the ground are become burnt out and exhausted. All of my colleagues are actively searching for other work. My suggestion? Apply to Harvard instead.
