Basically disposable labor. Often coerced to work 80+ hours a week on a project, but when funding is up, you are out the door, degree or not.

I absolutely love everyone in my office and thoroughly enjoy being around the people I work with. Benefits are standard for higher education...which means they're pretty much great.

Cons

The pay really is terrible, especially in comparison to other universities in the area. My same job in another school offers approximately 35% more in salary. My specific job can get pretty monotonous, and management is occasionally very annoying to deal with.
