Pros

Knowledgeable management, recently restructured the department and have become much more organized. Great opportunity for student staff as well as full time employment.

Cons

Many policies tend to be old; a lot of doing things because it's the way it's always been done. Software is a bit outdated.

Decent amount of time off and in general good work/life balance.

Cons

Health Benefits & tuition remission benefits are being scaled back. Workes are underpaid and in general very low morale across departments and colleges.

Pros

Working as an RA is an excellent opportunity. Because the hiring process is so strict, you are only working with people who share your values. Teamwork is very important in this job, but it's fun because your co-workers are all high quality employees.

Cons

It can be difficult to toe the line between being a friend to your residents, and being the enforcer of rules. But the training that you receive at the beginning is so comprehensive that I didn't have any trouble
