Not a place to work anytime soon

Pros

Good benefits and work life balance.

Cons

On top of the insane politics, the company is in a downward spiral. They are getting rid of employees left and right and all of the other employees are leaving because the company is going downhill. Not a good place if you are looking for a stable job.

Tough times are ahead

Pros

Lots of flexibility, good benefits, and a management group that does want to be honest and transparent. There are lots of good people, which is why the company still exists today.

Cons

Unclear direction. The company became profitable by basically being an inexpensive online marketplace for nutritional supplements, and that role is being overtaken by Amazon, rapidly. The way the company operates today needs to change dramatically, but I've seen no indication that management has much of a plan, other than "hey, maybe we'll try to do things differently". Exactly how, well, doesn't seem to be getting much convergence anywhere, and a direction has been needed for a while. There will be a ton of pain in the future as the revenue and profits for the existing business will continue to fade. The culture has also become a bit of a sad state of affairs. After a round of layoffs and a CEO that seemed to rub people the wrong way, there's definitely a "shut up and plug away" culture that most people just seem to have adapted to. Changing this culture will be a major task.

Pros

Health benefits, on site gym. If you're up in corporate the list comes on. If you're in customer service the list stops there.

Cons

Being in customer service you are treated horribly compared to the rest of the company. There is zero communication between departments. They will tell you cs is the backbone of the company but you're treated like a very replaceable number. The systems you need to do your job rarely work which impact both the cs rep and the customer. No room for career growth, unless you join the bro club or sleep with someone in the department you want to join.
