Pros

Blue Sky is a wonderful place to work. The artists are amazing, the atmosphere is collaborative, and the donuts flow freely.

Cons

Middle production pay is insufficient for the cost of living in this area. Many PAs and Coordinators have to find side jobs to pay rent.

Pros

Full time benefits like vacation time, sick days, snow days, and health insurance were all great. The company sort of treats you like family and if you talk to enough people you will find they genuinely care about you and your life.

Cons

Promotions go slow unless you leave the studio and come back - that's what I heard when I went and that's what I experienced.

Ok place to work

Pros

Stability. This is probably the safest place to work in the industry. Very relaxed schedule. Talented people to work with. Ok salary, ok working environment, ok benefits. Good bonus when the movie sells well. If you are in the right department, you could really enjoy your life: you can chat and play with friends during regular hours and start to work when over time kicks in.

Cons

No body heard the name of the studio when you mention the movies you worked on to your friends and families. People always say "Wow you work at Pixar? So cool!!!" This studio is lack of vision, they just want to play safe. Everything is controlled by Fox. Even if you pitched a good story, it might be turned into ridiculous joke. Not the best place to work for creative people. There are great talented people in this place but the final films are always just so so. Production starts while the story is still soft, and directors usually don't know what they want. Many departments waste lots of time and energy because of this. Different department treats people differently, some people can go to watch movies or go on field trip during working hours while others don't have equal treatment. Studio is in the middle of no where, you have limited food choice if you don't drive. You don't feel any care from HR, you just get reminders to finish your online training courses.
