Pros

Company wants the best for everyone. Truly sets initiatives to ensure that the people are happy with many perks. A lot of SWAG gear, free lunches and company paid events. The people are awesome and down to earth.

Cons

Lack of organization throughout ALL departments. The wrong people are in the wrong roles. LONG hours and poor work life balance. Very reactive company and fails to be proactive. Very very very poor communication from the corporate office to facilities.

Pros

The "associates", if you will, (non-management positions) are mostly wonderful, smart, supportive people. Snacks Blue Apron discount

Cons

Profit-over-everything became the clear approach since a few months before the IPO and it definitely affected the culture and work environment There is very little recognition and it relies mostly on whether you're liked or not. They started an evaluation process that is very hypocritical and one-sided, assessing performance in relation to the display and application of company's values when achieving your business goals, when none of those values are displayed towards, or in the benefit of, the employees Very little equality and almost no diversity, especially in upper management C-Suite is horrible at managing expectations and this stems from very poor communication Morale is very low and there is a pervasive feeling that there is no interest in improving it

Pros

I worked full time at Blue Apron's Linden facility in the packing department. The Linden location was within a short driving distance from my house.

Cons

-90% of the building is not finished, yet they still insist on hiring massive amounts of people - You can only eat in the trailer "cafeteria" which will not hold the amount of people they plan to hire (again, the real cafeteria, break room, and lobby are NOT done yet, but somehow they "put their emplyees first"). - Some supervisors can be nasty; one admitting that he once came in with a hangover - Machines break down every 15 minutes causing workers to have to construct boxes by hand or just wait in the cold for at least 20-30 minutes at a time -Even though your schedule says you will have the same schedule every week (they even bold the words "same" and "every week") you will be expected to work longer than your scheduled hours. - Extreme lack of communication; some supervisors don't know what they are doing - A number of employees yell out racial slurs - It's very easy to feel like you're just a part in a machine - Scheduled locker checks like we're in middle school - You do not receive benefits untils 60 days after you start working - I have been made to on a number of occaisons enter the freezer without proper protection. It's literally snowing in there!
