Pros

Great place to get face-to-face selling experience. Good fellow employees. We sell guns. :)

Cons

Corporate bureaucracy often lacks common sense Somewhat of a disconnect between Corporate policies and the freedom to conduct business at the store level according to local community habits. Weekly varying retail schedules are extremely frustrating!

Pros

Flexible schedule around school needs.

Cons

Bottom of the barrel pay. Other retail stores consistently pay all levels of employees more. Work includes pretty standard retail tasks but Big5 stores are a mess; the location of their products are completely scattered and hard to find.
