Pros

Very liberal work enviroment with freedom to make decisions. A lot of learning opportunities. Positive work enviroment with great morale, a lot of influencial dynamic people to work with. Challenging, yet rewarding job responsibilities. Executives and upper level management are fair and conduct themselves in an exemplary manner. They are personable and are great to work for. Compensation and bonuses are great. Benefits and 401K are also great.

Cons

Advancement opportunities are hard to come by in this company. Occasionally, there can be a lack of communication and support from direct managers. Lacking a formal training class and cirriculum for new hires as it relates to the individual jobs. Time off days for new hires less than 2 years should be a day or two more than what is currently offered.

Pros

Coworkers are for the most part friendly and work hard. The people in the analytic portion of the company are very intelligent and are constantly coming up with unique ways of improving the business. The corporate culture is one of smart, casual people that work hard. It is a great company to work for that is on the cutting edge of online retail.

Cons

The pay is just okay. I know of many people that are using Overstock as a springboard to gain experience in a tough economy and then planning on moving on to better opportunities as they come available. This is really too bad because it is sad to loose intelligent people and be forced to then have to try to replace them. If Overstock was willing to pay 10-20% more they would hold on to some of these good people and cut down on the replacement costs of having to train someone new. Also, starting with two weeks of PTO (that includes both optional days off and sick days) for your first year is challenging. That increases to three weeks your second year, but most companies start with a minimum of 3 weeks.
