Pros

The good people are amazing, unfortunately there are only a handful of good ones in each department so I don't know if you can consider this a pro.

Cons

The place is a hot mess. I don't even know where to start. They haven't figured out that your management team should be the best of the best, not who can talk the loudest. Most of the management team can talk a great game but when it comes to actually doing anything they look around like they are lost. Management does not understand that part of managing a team is managing people not just processes. You can't expect to have a functioning team if first, you don't know what you are even doing and second, you want to sit behind a computer all day not knowing what you're team is actually doing. Then to top it off you get upset when things aren't going to the plan that you have created while you have been hiding behind your computer. You can't lead a team if you do not know your team. It blows my mind how a management can sit there and blame everyone else for their failures and point fingers at everyone but them. Yes everyone is accountable for their own actions but as a manager if your team fails you fail. That's what you take on when you say yes to a management position. When I am speaking of "management team" I am talking from manager to director to freaking vice president. When there is an issue there is a proper chain of command to go through to get it resolved. Well at least there should be. It's sad when you walk into you VP office to talk about everything cause no one is listening and even the VP gives you BS excuses. At that point you give up. You go back to your desk and wait for the storm. This used to be a great company to work for. When I first started I was so happy with my job. I didn't mind that it was stressful and busy because the people and management made it worth to. I have been there many years and I have slowly watched it self destruct. Breaks my heart to watch something you love get destroyed and people are to egotistical to listen. I hope Patrick takes some time to really reflect on the company he has created and why he created it. Because from where I sit, it's going downhill fast. From day one he has always talked about the people and how this company cares about the people. That statement isn't true anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We’re sorry that your experience here is not to your liking. We’re always saddened to hear that there are colleagues who feel the way you do. We are listening. Here are some things that we’re working on that address a few of your concerns: - On a quarterly basis, leaders review their team’s performance with the entire management team. Even though you may not attend these meetings, please know that each member of management is, in fact, held accountable for their team’s outcomes by their colleagues. - We are working on strengthening our company’s leadership development program through our Learning and Development department. Since you are part of this training team, I encourage you to get involved with this initiative. It will benefit from your perspective. - We will soon be launching a new internal peer review tool where every associate will be able to share feedback about their colleagues with whom they work frequently. It will be a way for all of us to identify our strengths and recognize opportunities for improvement. We will become a stronger organization because of it. Finally, as I am the VP over the training team, I want to personally apologize for ever making you feel that I was giving you excuses. I will try harder so that I can avoid giving that impression in the future. I hope that we’re able to turn your experience here into a positive one.

Pros

One of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. Patrick cares about his associates and their quality of life. Healthy food at the cafe, wonderful gym facility, superior 401 K plan, and so much more.

Cons

I would like to see a more robust PTO plan. Most tech companies offer unlimited PTO. This would also help attract new talent.

Pros

A lot of opportunities, but it takes someone who isn't afraid to ask for opportunities. Awesome corporate headquarters. Gym, health clinic, cafe, greenhouse, awesome building. Very transparent CEO.

Cons

Gender equality is an issue in leadership positions. The company tends to only finish "Phase 1" of multi-phase projects and then bandaids for the rest. A lot of change too quickly.

I am sorry to say that I believe you are correct on the gender issue in Leadership positions. We have a great crop of women working their way up now into Leadership (and executive) positions, and are doing all we can to accelerate the development process. Our People Care department has launched a mentor program for women. We also work extra hard to recruit female talent. Really: we are looking for powerful female candidates for all kinds of roles within our firm. Please apply.
