If you are looking for a fun place to work in San Francisco, this is the place to be. This may be the only firm outside of NYC that has a broad coverage of asset classes (fized income, equities, forex) and geographical regions. The investment process is scientific, there are no superstars and no epiphanies, the ideas are tested and backtested to ensure the economic merit of the decisions. A spunky new building in the financial district, good technology support and freedom to innovate.

Cons

Your day at work starts at 5:30 am or earlier for some folks but then you also scoot off from work early.

There are some great people to work with, this is a good interesting environment to work in and they offer flexible work hours which is essential to any busy person.

Cons

needs a better salary and more internal opportunities. Unless other staff members move on then promotion opportunities are very limited which is disappointing.
