Great opportunity to gain some experience for your CV and work out whether Barclays is a good company to work for in the long term - Barclays was very welcoming however there was mixed review on how good everybodys placements were.

Cons

Some worked alot harder than others - some people were neglected, so it is up to you to make the placement what you want it to be!

Pros

Good name, qualified people, good salary, nice people and great career opportunities. Very healthy enviroment and vthe place which is very difficult to leave.

Cons

Barclays Capital has not the best location (Canary Wharf) in London. And I can not see any other downsides, sorry.

Pros

The internship program here is fantastic, with BarCap running a group of 150+ interns and Barclays Wealth now completing its second round of summer analysts. HR does a great job of balancing on-desk work experience with training sessions, and even roundtable-type discussions with higher management and the CEO.

Cons

For interns, the personal experience is pretty much entirely dependent on the team you're assigned to. If luck is on your side, you'll have a great line manager that fosters professional growth and encourages you to ask questions, etc. On the other hand, you could end up with a manager who goes the entire summer without speaking with you and instead asks another entry-level associate to "take care" of you.
