Stressful, over-worked, and entirely too many chiefs...

Pros

Before getting transferred, saw some of my best friends every day.

Cons

Treated as a number rather than an employee. Budget cuts, no raises, lay-offs, but still shelling out $30,000 sponsorships. Too many "branding" videos, meetings, etc. Having employees read books that are ridiculous time wasters. And the best - the retreats for upper management... How many employees' salaries is that costing?

Pros

The best reason to work at ParenteBeard is the people and the flexibility. I love the fact that there is always someone to help with an issue, someone on top of the newest guidance and is more than happy to lend a hand. The ability to work from home or work hours that fit in with my family life is also key.

Cons

As with any public accounting firm, there is travel involved and sometimes its not easy to drive 4 hours in one day for an 8 hour day at client.
