Too big for its own good?

Pros

Worldwide network. Colleagues can become friends - I've even met some on leisure basis when visiting a city with a Baker office.

Cons

Huge bureaucracy. Regionalization initiatives very slow, each office (sometimes each practice group) essentially its own business unit. Partners seem to compete for business/clients due to client credit system. Filters down into lower levels. Stingy with bonuses. NY office implemented bonus structure on par with other BigLaw firms in area. But other offices (notably, SF and Palo Alto) still under discussion.
