Pros

None whatsoever. Horrible pay. Abusive managers. They are asking girls to perform sexual favors in the Mumbai office. BNP Paribas India operations is by far the worst place to work. Please don't join. You'll be doing yourself and your family a big favor.

Cons

Horrible place to work. No work life balance. Pathetic paymasters. The most impolite and abusive managers you will ever encounter in your life. They don't respect women. They want girls to perform sexual favors for them. This is happening in your Mumbai office.

Employee behaviour which is non-compliant with our Code of Conduct is a matter which is viewed extremely seriously in the organisation. We encourage and urge employees to report such behaviour under the Bank’s Whistleblowing procedure to enable the Bank to investigate the specific matter and take appropriate action as required.

Pros

Young people and new offices so overall good environment. Really, this is the only advantage I can take out from working there (oh, and Lisbon is beautiful!)

Cons

- TERRIBLE compensation. I was earning 800 euros as an analyst. In France, people earn more than four times my salary. Also, even you are there for years your salary doesn't increase. in three years, expect to be increased by 50 euros net. In other terms, expect to live with your parents forever. - TERRIBLE HR department and allocation of talent to the right jobs. As an example, besides from my education and work experience, I speak 6 languages and was working in a very Back- office position where my skills weren't useful. - They have a contract clause that states that if you leave before completing two years at the bank you have to pay them two months of your salary for 'training costs'. This is a way to maintain highly qualified people at a very low price. This is the wrong way to retain talent and in the long run it is not sustainable. The best way to retain good employees is by giving them good life conditions. I was one of the persons who was asked to pay 2 months of salary for 'training costs'. Given the fact that I never had any training (I never went on a training anywhere, nor have I had any excel or language courses, nor did I go to any conference etc., I refused to pay them this amount and therefore, they decided not to pay me my last salary. So basically, I worked for free for 1 month while spending money with transportation to go to work everyday. This is very UNETHICAL.

Pros

good benefits plan, lots of vacation days if you get to take them

Cons

this is the most horrible places I have worked. the management has been there long time but doesn't know what they are doing. Because they are clueless, junior employees are treated horribly and blamed for everything that went wrong. In addition to being thrown under the bus all the time, the management treat people with no respect, there's constant yelling and screaming and other types of public humiliation. Senior management and HR should feel ashamed for not doing anything to remedy such abusive work environment. Having a job here is as bad as being unemployed. TRUST ME, Do NOT WORK for this bank!!!!! I quit in 2 months after I joined.
