Cons
In any global company you will always find that all of the megalomaniacs and self-interested, self-important employees gravitate towards working there - nothing could be more accurate than working for BHP Billiton in the Melbourne office. While there are notable exceptions to this, the majority of my colleagues are only interested in themselves. They are unable to see the bigger picture, they hoard the little bit of information that they get and act like demigods to their subordinates. While the veil of secrecy is sometimes necessary, people here seem to hoard information because they want to make themselves feel important and needed versus the former. It stifles creative thinking, drains those who want to improve things and often leaves a lot of people quite bitter and angry.
