Pros

Good remuneration and benefits, opportunities for professional development and career progression. Depending on your line manager, you can actually get places within the company. International company so international opportunities exist.

Cons

Volatile industry - lots of highs and lows - often creates knee-jerk reactions in the low times equaling low job security and morale. Senior Management not at all transparent. Often feel like a number, not a valued employee. Not enough consistency across assets and even departments at the same asset.

Not resourcing the future.

Pros

Cheap lunch ($2) but not really all that. Nice location within Houston.

Cons

Projects lack long term expectancy due to frequent reorgs and low employee morale. Lack of training opportunities and exposure. A culture far from one of merit but cultural bias. Too much politics .
