Pros

I loved my job....until the end. I was an SE hired to cover one state. Job was fun, meeting partners and customers, being able to be HANDS ON with ANY product they offered - that was fantastic and an experience I doubt i'll ever have again.

Cons

My manager changed no less than 5 times in a 3 year time span. Constantly having to make your worth known, MULTIPLE changes in company direction, 401K benefit was pretty awful and then, my territory grew to 1/4th of the US with no additional bonus (actually, the way they worked it meant that my total comp number was IMPOSSIBLE to hit. My overall revenue number grew exponentially (literally) with my overall comp target staying the same making my monthly comp fall through the floor, with an exponential increase in work and going from no travel, to travel multiple days a week.

Pros

You get a paycheck and there are good people you'll work along side of.

Cons

It's a boys club... what I can tell you from my time at Avaya, what used to be a great company, is no more. This company has been dismantled by people that have no business in their roles up to the higher ups making poor business decisions and cutting corners anyway they can. My best advice to anyone still working at Avaya, start looking ASAP, this is a strong job market and eventually this ship will take on too much water to keep up with it's competitors or possibly sink. Anyone applying, make sure you look at all your options and try to go w/ a BP. If you are a customer reading this, please do yourself and your company a big favor, look at your options before you renew that contract or have plans to upgrade your environment. Think CLOUD! From there horrible services support model in India, Canada and Argentina, to their onsite field support technicians that know nothing about the products Avaya sells or how to fix them. Customers are being robbed and can't see through the dog and pony show, don't believe me... look a little closer next time... Ask questions. Avaya for years now has been sub contracting all there remote T2/T3 engineers from Inovasia, they are not even Avaya employees or have a good understanding of what they are supporting, it's quite the smoke show and Avaya has gotten real good at lying to everyone. I finally realized it wasn't the company I was once was proud being a part of and loved working for. I was tired of lying to our customers and making up excuses at every corner, life's too short to be working for a company that does not acknowledge their hardworking employees anymore. Horrible health benefits, no raises or bonus for most, they took away our vacations time and 401k match. Ugh... I could go on and on... but at the end of the day, ex CEO is LOL to the bank since 2009.
