Pros

Great technology company and vision around Future of Making

Cons

The company culls people every year in December/January. A true f*cked up culture of hiring and firing.

Pros

- Work / life balance is good and my department does not micro manage (good autotomy) - Internal information is generally easy to find and organized well - Benefits are good - Mostly everyone I’ve met has been down to earth and easy to communicate with - Market dominance in AEC as well as name recognition for the industry - Satisfied with the work that I do, as well as my direct management and overall team dynamic - Appreciate their commitment to not oversaturate the existing employe pool and hire at a rate conducive to our growth, unlike other tech companies who are now having to lay off in droves

Cons

- Severely underpaid for market value - Business models, organizations, strategies are changing constantly. Once you become accustomed to something, they are trying to change it again. Change, while happening often, is also implemented slowly, causing workflow disruptions. - Long standing employees are treated as dispensable, even though they have very integral knowledge and relationships that help with the ever changing environment. They aren’t given raises most of the time, but rather cost of living adjustments (not even that much with current inflation). They watch new hires come in making markedly higher salaries and then spend their time training them / proofing their work for months. - As per above, retention does not seem important to Autodesk and they’d rather people leave than give them a fair slice of the pie that they helped create. This ultimately affects everyone at the company and also hinders future talent acquisition.
