Pros

Helping professional designers become more efficient with the power of good design and software Challenging and interesting problems to solve Being surrounded by knowledgeable, talented and skilled individual contributors Good starting pay Employee stock purchase scheme is more generous than in other places, but requires self-sacrifice.

Cons

Bait and switch at the offer stage. You are only measured on what you are told to do. Personal initiatives are not encouraged. Several layers of management that somehow survive every restructuring while individual contributors are left on their own. Loyalty only goes up at Autodesk Managers and individual contributions tend to be measured on how well they make their boss look to their own superiors. Huge amount of politics, distracts from getting work done. Navigating aforementioned politics seem to be the main deciding factor in measuring personal success. Line manager will not hesitate to use performance review as opportunities to "whip you into place". Zero investment in what employees want. Only in what benefits the manager. Annual re-organisation (may include layoff) with zero positive impact for individual team members. Issues with managers are reported and swept under the rug. Strategy changes every 6 months with team members having to bear the load, lowers morale and makes personal efforts seem wasted. Forget pay rises and growth opportunities at this company (unless you are a manager)

Pros

Great people with good hearts especially at the middle management level. Fiercely liberal and very socially conscious. The Autodesk Foundation is something to be proud of. The previous CEO's charisma is greatly missed.

Cons

Looks great from the outside but inner workings not at all progressive and there is an underlying sense of insecurity and fear of another layoff, always in the works. Upward mobility is limited and controlled by hearsay rather than facts. HR does not have much say at the leadership level. While the say finding talent is an issue, they get rid of people at the flick of a switch. Mega age related layoffs. Watch out if over 45!

Pros

The customers that you work with are some of the best in the world!!!!

Cons

Very much an old boys (and girls) club. Friends get promoted over people that deserve it and have worked for it.
