Company stuck in traditional software dev cycle of 1 release each year. No strong web marketing leadership or understanding of web in general. See web like software development.

Pros

Autodesk is truly an amazing place to work. As a company its different - it's not your typical heartless corporate entity out to make money. It cares about the employees, customers, environment, and the planet as a whole. This sentiment pervades through the company and its palpable. People are genuinely friendly and attrition rate is really low.

Cons

The work culture is almost too collaborative for Autodesk's own good. There are too many meetings and emails about the littlest thing. Middle management don't feel empowered to make decisions and leave it to VPs to make the call. Product decisions are top-down. Product managers are always looking for approval from executives to make tough calls. Too many levels of management and people are well entrenched make it difficult for people aspiring to grow.

Smart developers working on some of the more interesting and challenging kinds of applications. Senior management has a good direction for the company. Flexible environment--easy to work from home.

Cons

Salary increases and fringe benefits are meager. It doesn't feel like the company is growing. People in the office lack confidence in middle management.
