Pros

You could easily get promoted after a while working in the company.

Cons

Awful work-life balance , directors were aggressive and had disrespectful attitude. No proper training process, expect you to go through tons of SOPs at the same time working on projects. Focus is on the company’s success not employee satisfaction

Pros

- Enormous company comes with typical corporate benefits in the office - Since this is the "best" company in the area, you are working with the smartest people around - The work itself is interesting and engaging in the lab - The portfolio is wide and robust enough to generally avoid major layoffs if a few projects end up failing.

Cons

- Health insurance is BAD. Aetna doesn't cover really basic stuff, like a chickenpox vaccine for adults. Providers that accept Aetna are not good. Dental only covers the basics. If you're anything but a healthy person in their 20's, you're going to be paying for a lot of visits at doctors that other companies would have paid for in their coverage - The company burned out a TON of people during COVID trying to make the vaccine and now they expect employees to work as hard as they did during the pandemic. - The CEO and leadership makes a bold claim to approve 20 drugs by 2030 to satisfy stakeholders and that just makes everyone else in the company work harder while the CEO takes home the highest pharma pay in the EU in 2023? - AZ only RECENTLY approved 3 month maternity leave in the US Clearly they care about women's health and family - They are generally underpaying employees compared to competitors. They say they are "competitive" to market value but if you talk to peers in the industry, AZ pays lower. They have no incentive to fix this because they are generally the best company to work for in Maryland.
