      Is anyone else worried?

      Pros

      A few years ago, when things were going great, it was an awesome place to work. Given the new global economy and how it has affected practically every company in the world, Arrow's greatness has been vastly diminished.

      Cons

      I am a little worried about our new CEO and President. I am a little worried that someone with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin is the most viable candidate to become the President and CEO of a billion dollar corporation. I feel like we've put Fredo in charge of the Corleone family.

      Pros

      If you don't have to work for or near the volatile CEO, it's a pretty low pressure environment, even slow paced - which may not be a good thing.

      Cons

      Arrow's situation is a bit more complex than some earlier posters have indicated. Arrow's middleman model is under attack from both sides: supplier and end customer. Like all reasonable business people, they're trying to eliminate the cost associated with a middleman distributor. Arrow has reacted a bit more slowly than its competitors, but all are facing declining margins. Having said that, Arrow will be around for quite some time. If you're looking for a dynamic, exciting work environment, it ain't Arrow. But if you're looking for a place to finish out a career, it's probably not too bad.

      Problems on the horizon.

      Pros

      Given the new climate that has enveloped my location, there are, no longer, any best reasons to work for Arrow Electronics.

      Cons

      All of the jobs at my location are being shipped to either Denver or India, therefore, since I most likely won't have a job next year, I would consider that a rather siginificant downside.
