A bad time

Pros

- Incredibly friendly work buddies. - Consistent given gifts for certain holidays (easter, christmas, bun day etc.) from upper managment. - no work on friday if you work on certain shifts - decent pay for a work with no previous skills required

Cons

- very bad management of employees, the whole place is running on calling in part time emergency workers who basically become full time workers. For every shift at least 1/5 are workers who are only called in that day - bad planning, almost every week since christmas have had to make employees work over time in order to produce according to the schedule. This is mostly due to machines being very old and in poor quality which always delays for each and every shift. Instead of trying to fix machines or planning less, managment seems to keep trying to push it and simply hope that this week things will go better. - bad upkeep on machines, most machines as previously stated are in bad condition. Every week a new part breaks down. This is due to the machines being really old and due for a replacement. At this point the mechanics don't know what to do in order to fix them. If they plan to actually replace them no information has reached us - not great for advancing your career, some people have worked here for over 10 years and still only know how the machines work in their area. Seemingly the opportunity to advance is given haphazardly and often to the younger employees. There are however no real rewards for being knowledgable in more areas, you only get more responsibilities and no benefits - HR needs to actually hire outside of the social circles of its employees. There have only been internal interview processes, this is probably why no new employees have managed to get in. You either know someone or you're out. However managment have also themselves complained about being under staffed, which is also a problem. - general unprofessionalism from bosses, because everyone are basically in the same social circles bosses tend to be a little to casual with their employees. Sometimes speaking to their families about their work performances, jokes that are a little too inappropriate from a boss to their employee etc.
