Insecure and Unstable Career, too much politics, culture of Hire and Fire

Pros

Compensation is good and competitive, work life balance is ok. May be a better option when compared to services company

Cons

Work is not good enough to be comparable with other product companies, Very Poor Indian Management, Hiring and Firing is very common without any logical justification leading to a high job insecurity. Indian GM is apathetic towards empoyees and more of a showy person.

Supervisors are inadequate at best. No knowledge of managing people or solving problems. Zero opportunities for growth. Terrible old guard employees who only look out for themselves. Very low pay for a specialized skillset.

The job I have is great: interesting and challenging. I work on a great overall team and manage a great small team. I like what I do.

Cons

The HR (People &Culture) team is the biggest challenge in this company. Bureaucratic. Dumb policies, of which the DUMBEST is that you cannot hire remote people without an act of god. It was FINE during the pandemic because it suited them, of course. It doesn't matter to them if someone is the best person for the job; it is more important that they sit in an office. ...why? No one can explain it to me. We. are. a. GLOBAL. company. We work remotely from each other EVERY DAY. And btw, people on my team who work remote who already feel disrespected by this. Like they are now a second class citizen because of this policy. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
