Not the best, poor pay!

Pros

The people you work with! Made good friendships with colleague's. Support for IT related issues and support from other stores via calls if needed.

Cons

Very poor pay, difference between normal colleagues and a 'trading support manager' is less than 50p, hardly worth the extra work load, probably the number one reason for leaving!! Makes you want to do the very minimum. Relationship between sainsburys management and Argos is dreadful, no help or support. Especially when paired with sainsburys click and collect, leaves very little room for stock/cages. Would often get snubbed or ignored by various people in the sainsburys management team. Heavy lifting, topped with the amount of paperwork, and minimal staff means other aspects get overlooked. Training was rushed and non existent. Depot's constantly missing customers items when delivered to stores, paired with them not really caring if they are missing.. Outdated stock system/headsets.

A great little company

Pros

Family Feel. Availability of product at quicker time. Business is safe since Sainsburys takeover

Cons

Sainsburys has made the right strategy to sustain and grow the Argos home delivery model but also has issues where implementation doesn't change after continued operational shortcomings.

Good job

Pros

On the whole delivery manifests were easy and not put under too much time pressure . Great managers, flexible working hours could fit around my studying.

Cons

Unsociable hours - late delivery slot means often still driving till 9.30 - 10pm and not getting clocking off till 10.30pm on occasion. Early shifts starting at 5.30/5am. Lot of paperwork and procedures which are not always common sense (enforcing an 8 minute van check when finished shift when the check can easily be done in 4). No chances for career progression.
