Pros

I like working at Argos as it is a very varied job in which no two days are exactly the same, in one shift you could be picking the other handing out and maybe another shift working on the tills. In addition to this all the staff are very helpful when you are training and spent time getting to know you even i you are taken on as a xmas temp.

Cons

What i don't like in Argos is the fact that when undergoing training to become better there really is no concrete guidance, you basically given all the time in the world to do it with no reviews along the way of performance reviews to see how you are getting on. Further to this I find the managers can cometimes be a bit self absorbed in the running of the buisness to worry about staff morale, often implimenting new ideas without asking the staff about them first. Most notable however is the fact that certain things can change within Argos without anything being relayed to the staff, such as the recent pay increase and the change of the hours break entitlement that is no longer allowed unless you work over 8 hours and 45 minutes, instead of being as the handbook suggests, allowed for shifts over 7.45 hours. The main issue that has come to light in stores is the lack of a competitive salary, in comparison to other close stores like Greggs for example who's basic salary is £6.90 rising to £7.11 after three months compared to Argos's £6.59 per hour for over 18's.

Pros

It's a fun place to work at, quite an easy job to do!

Cons

The pay, the hours, the fact you don't get paid any extra for working on a Sunday
