Pros

Employee benefits are good and fine tuned every year to suit your needs

Cons

Growth opportunities are low, difficult to get promotion if you’re not “politically visible” in the organization. Promotions and hikes are handed out to the one who are visible and not to the ones who deserve it. If you are an individual contributor and like to work without bragging about it or don’t like to send MoMs and do admin work to make yourself visible to the senior management - probably it’s not the right place for you.

Pros

1. Nice office in a business district. 2. Many exciting corporate events, including weekly open-bars. 3. Chill environment with a ping-pong table. 4. Cantine card and benefit points. 5. Can be a good experience for trainees, as there you'll learn all the things that must be avoided and should NOT be done, and explore other opportunities in different career paths (I heard positive reviews from other ex-colleagues about their teams).

Cons

1. Bad management which creates : - backlog of tasks being carried over from previous months (can be up to the previous year, no joke), which creates massive work overload (really massive). - implementing a new approach can be quite slow. - overtime and burnout ! 2. Old versions of software are used (in my case SAP software used to issue payment orders of bills) which makes achieving daily tasks time consuming and very challenging, especially for a position that has repetitive tasks. 3. Very, very, very bad organisation. Organisation of work is not the biggest concern, unfortunately. 4. The company's culture (work-wise focuses) on short-term solutions rather than finding long-term solutions, especially to recurring problems. 5. Distribution of work is extremely frustrating, as we were asked to deal with a market unit for which we do not speak the language, you can translate a PDF but good luck translating a scanned document, when you don't have adequate tools. 6. The company relies on unpaid trainees, exploiting them to the most (they must perform as they need to validate university credits + hope to get a paid contract). 7. Too many useless daily meetings... I pointed this out to the management and they reduced them from 5 useless team meetings a week to 3 unless team meetings a week. Great progress! 8. Learning material to onboard newcomers is not adequate, and doesn't cover up everything. 9. Last but not least : at the time, the company did not foresee any salary increase to match inflation/cost of living, which was discouraging to continue working there. Some concrete examples that can summarise all of the above: 1. Bills not paid on time was a very recurring issue. Service providers would issue reminders for those bills. Instead of creating a user account on the service providers' websites (let's say for electricity, for example) with a username and password, so those bills can be accessed anytime and paid on time, we were told to just email the electricity company to ask for details, wait for their reply, risk having fees for late payments.... 2. Databases listing names and addresses of breweries, bars and offices are not regularly updated, and conflicting versions of those lists exist, which creates confusion, leads to mistakes and makes working very frustrating. I even had an Excel table with "information not updated" marked in red, instead of simply working on updating the information or indicating which lines were updated. OMG!!! In 2 words : complete chaos!
