In many cases, leadership has little understanding of the actual work their teams are doing, as those in leadership roles tend to be the ones who align with higher-ups rather than those with a deep grasp of day-to-day operations. There’s no real value placed on the people doing the work — only the results matter. HR is not a reliable resource, as they prioritize supporting management over advocating for employees. Compensation is lower than in similar positions at other companies, and the benefits package doesn’t cater to employees’ needs. The company is bogged down by unnecessary bureaucracy, which hampers productivity. Frequent performance reviews — three to four times a year — consume considerable time with preparation, meetings, and follow-ups, adding to an already heavy workload. Expectations are unreasonably high, and there’s no work-life balance, compounded by a lack of empathy from leadership.
