Not a Meritocracy

Pros

The company has some incredible brands and opportunities and on the odd occasion invest in training with staff. Can go and work in other departments if you are interested in the work they do.

Cons

The company is obsessed with the idea of it's staff creating 'legacies' but none of these really last. If Senior Management don't feel you are a cultural fit, at any moment, they will manage you out and really knock your confidence. Being a top performer and having proven results in your role can be totally irrelevant and not enough for promotion, or to keep you in the company. The company claims it is a meritocracy, but it really isn't. People are hand picked for the roles to move into. You will be favoured as a graduate and/or living in London.

Pros

Fast Promotion up the ranks however they want your life.

Cons

I have been working for this company for over a decade based in UK and across Europe. I have seen how the toxic culture has increased within the staff. There is constant backstabbing in order to get promotions especially in the UK office. D&I is an absolute joke, No Salary Increases Poor Office Environment Massive Workload No Family Life Balance

Pros

-Provides free Cabs. -Provide free beers. -Good Health Insurance (although never claimed but heard lengthy process for reimbursement) - Good for Female employees. - Projects in GAC are good. Avoid GCC or GHQ -Paymasters but consider no salary increments once you are hired for at least 2 years. They will give some reason saying pie or target not achieved. Don't feel elated by reading pros, read cons as well and after this you are joining Data Engineering Project then God bless you :)

Cons

- Lot of managers than developers/qa/analysts/data scientists. - HR boasts about ABI principals but none of the managers follow them. No flat hierarchy, as they say. If you will convey your concerns to upper management, your line manager will feel offended. - 6 years experience can also become manager and will handle team having on average 10 years of experience. Now just think how team will be managed. - Senior managers and Managers are technically challenged you need to explain technical issues more than 10 times to make them understand the issue. - Work life balance is zero specially in Brewdat Project. Before joining ABI ask the project which you are joining if it is Brewdat or Data Engineering Unit then refrain yourself in joining that project. - Lot of attrition in the project. I have worked for 2 years and left the organization because of too much work pressure and lack of technical knowledge in the team. - Brewdat (Data Engineering unit) has lot of attrition every month around 3-4 resources are leaving ranging from Architects to Program managers to QA to DevOps. - No annual increments in salary and no bonus payouts from past 2 years. - Lot of L1 work and legacy work. You will only focus on closing SNOW tickets.
