Pros

The organization has a long history and does great work helping the community and fulfilling its mission. Good employee benefits. Leadership cares about the mission and carrying it out. They are working to be as efficient with their resources as possible in difficult economic times.

Cons

It is a difficult place to work. The organization is constantly going through changes and reorganization. Management has been focusing so much on the reorganization, they have forgotten their employees are people and have created a work environment that is less than appealing.

Mission focused, strong network throughout the country, volunteer culture, unique opportunities to serve communities in need, at the top of NGOs working in disaster relief and getting stronger at identifying and utilizing new technology (social media, virtual disaster deployments)

Cons

Stress between service delivery and revenue (doing more with less), work/life balance is hard to manage in a response organization and there is an expectation to be available by email 24/7

Bogged down by bad management, no work life balance, very incompetent supervisors, place seems to be stuck in the 70's, low employee morale, sometimes it feels like colleagues are out to get you instead of work with you
