Pros

You are generally doing work to help people in genuine need. Many clients and volunteers recognize and are truly thankful for your time, effort, concern and dedication. You are put at the forefront of a crisis and are afforded the opportunity to affect change.

Cons

Always on call, unqualified and incompetent volunteer leadership. Many volunteers are granted a leadership or other critical position based on tenure or ability to contribute financially and not according to their leadership or management ability.

Pros

Your work matters. This is a place where you can put your heart and soul into your work.

Cons

The "downsizing" and indebtedness. Mismanagement by the Board of Directors. Someone should have been keeping their eyes on the books. With 6 or 7 new CEOs at high salaries within the same amount of years, something needs to be done with those who run this organization.
