Pros

Very mission focused. Steady Pay with Benefits. Good Resume Builder with in the Human Services/ Non Profit Field. Never the same day.

Cons

Good Ole Boy Network at its Best! Incompetent Volunteers carry too much weight while hard working loyal paid staff have no voice. Overworked Paid Staff expected to do more than they can handle. Long Hours kills family life! Management in DC has no clue what the field deals with. Too many changes implemented with no feedback from the field.

Pros

ARC experienced dips in funds and has been forced to make cuts. Thankfully, CEO Gail McGovern refuses to cut salaries in an effort to keep great employees. Our workloads may have increased, but I am thankful I have not been forced to adjust my finances due to cutbacks.

Cons

No cons, I love my job and love working for the American Red Cross and doing my best to support our Mission, Value and Fundamental Principles.

Pros

Collecting blood from donors is fun and fast paced. The work you do for ARC Biomedical, is very important and you can take pride in your work helping people.

Cons

Pay, employee policies, management treats you as a worthless commodity. There is no work/life balance. Schedule is erratic, being scheduled late into the evening and then early the next morning. Employee turnover is high, many employees hired simply to be a body to fit scheduling purposes.
