Pros

Co-workers. Monetary compensation is good.

Cons

Basically the parent Amdocs corp. Everything boils down to $$ with the parent company, and they refuse to take into consideration other factors in their decision-making. They've changed health benefits so that we actually have to pay MORE to get LESS--which they position it so that it's a good thing. How does paying more for less translate to something good.

Not a good time to work at Amdocs in the US.

Pros

Great benefits—which is the only thing keeping most US employees at Amdocs. Fortunately, those good benefits include severance.

Cons

Amdocs is not doing well with its former top client, nor any of its US based accounts. Part of this is due to the shrinking margins in the telecom industry and Amdocs applications becoming too expensive for that market. However, their own unique problems are what have Amdocs circling the drain: -Amdocs offers arrogance instead of customer focus. -Amdocs has one focus ($) and neglects support of client’s core businesses, while focusing solely on the current or next big $ project. -Nepotism and cronyism aren’t serving Amdocs well. -While executive management talks to clients, middle management sees little evidence of this due to an apparent lack of understanding of client requests. -Amdocs solutions tend to focus on what they (Amdocs) want to do (technology), instead of how to solve the client’s problems with technology. -Amdocs is too technically focused. They undervalue and understaff every facet of support and communication required to implement and support the technology. -Amdocs is laying off long term and trusted US onsite employees in droves (50-95% of these onsite teams), leading to increasing instability for both Amdocs and their clients.

Pros

The Benefits and International Culture

Cons

In the USA, most people are Indian or Israeli and most senior jobs go to them. There is also a fear culture of being laid off.
