It's an ok place to start, but don't stay to long

Pros

If you work there for less than 7 years you get treated great. Great place to get some experience then leave.

Cons

If you work there for more than 7 years you start seeing your bonuses and your pay increases start going down. Each year there is a “silent” layoffs, you never know if you are the own next or not. There is very little planning and communication from the BU to BU specifically IT. If you’re in the Americas get ready to be a “just do it” person, they don’t need someone to solve problems. Management is completely clueless from the top down. They have no idea what it really takes to make the company run, all they care about is their bonus they get quarterly and yearly. So however they can increase their pockets is the better. The teams run so lean that when there is a problem or someone goes on vacation you are forced into situations to be a firefighter. If you are a skilled employee with much knowledge that has been there for a while it seems they want you to go.

Pros

To be honest I cannot say any.

Cons

The business model in Hungary is to buy himself into business. Then squezze people until they quit. After every 2 gone peope assign 50% to the project of a "developer" in a low cost location. Amdocs in Hungary is supporting billing sofware for Telecommnication companies. The business was won from HP. At HP 30 people were doing this, the customer was satisfied. After Amdocs took ower 10 people should have done the same output in better quality and less time. Considering that: - there is no hiring at all. If any, it is only in low cost location. (India) - No investment in people or technology to facilitate work or quality. (10+ years old technology unchanged, no trainings, no documentation) - It is expected from you to work a little harder often. Unpaid extra hours + unpaid weekend work. - After raising the problem to management, nothing ever changed. - There are always issues with the reporting codes. Co workers who are enterpreners often get paid late. - Customer is getting inpacient/angry for the drop of quality. which is always your fault. ( From the 10 people above only 6 were working by the time I left...) I think this business is going to terminate soon. Don't join Amdocs in Hungary.

Pros

Amdocs is good company as this is world leader in telcom billing. Working here, if lucky and get good exposure then it's a learning for you and specially if you are capable to make yourself free from the 95% garbage work (no learning/monotonous repetitive work not giving any broad picture) which happens to be a lot here. Onsite opportunities with conditions:- it depends on ur luck to get the onsite opportuniy some get in 1 year some don't get in 10 years even following dedicatedly.

Cons

1. very bad management. 2. very poor indian style planning. the management includes weekends in their plan in all projects. 3. Even though you will propose managers that I would work 3 hours extra per day, 5 Days please make my weeked free. they simply reject as due to poor indian management brain. They are very greedy and always want more, doesn't matter how much you give them. As a result resource in project goes 1 hrs in lunch .5 hrs in Tea, 1 hours in pantry and 10 minutes walk from the 12 hr they report too. That's mandatory as anyway even you seriously work and give more in weekdays they are going to ask you to work in weekends without a single penny extra. 4. mangers don't have to work excpet chasing and calling employees day night. 5. very poor apprisal system. technically strong and weak people get same salary hike as a result every year technically strong people leave. 6. lot of buttering and favorism.
