Pros

Good fellow employees. Technical managers are generally understanding and good to work for. Large variety of tasks to work on though most server work has been sent to India.

Cons

The great majority of server work has been sent to India. Unreasonable deadlines. Employees in United States seem to be given much lower priority than employees in Israel (where Amdocs is headquarted) and India (where most of the workers are now located). Hence, there is little room for career advancement.

Pros

WFH is acceptable depending on account, coworkers are knowledgeable and generally good to work with. Due to nature of business it is easy to build good repertoire with customers.

Cons

Shameful lack of promotions and yearly pay increases for even the best performing employees is capped at 5k regardless of merit. No opportunities for advancement for those excelling in application support roles. Basically a company to work for if you don't mind staying put in your assigned role. .

Pros

I was associated with amdocs for 6 years and I am writing this review after couple of months of me leaving Amdocs. This review is specific to Amdocs Pune development center (DVCI). The Pros:- 1. Good global exposure - you usually work with teams located in different country. Clients are spread all over the world. Work technologies includes Java, J2EE, UI, Hadoop etc. 2. Transport Serivces - its paid service for around 1600 PM but is timely and very deciplined. Cabs are also available. 3. Food Services - food is subsidiced, you get a meal of around Rs130 for Rs30. Great options for meals from mulitple vendors. Also 24x7 counter available. 4. Work Premise - Clean and of international standards. Frequently visited by employees from other countries, clients and vendors. 5. Small Onsite - you can get onsite exposure very quickly (some have travelled within a month of joining). It could also be frequenct but all depends on project and account(client) you get to work for. 6. Longterm Onsite - You need to be lucky here (its not on merit but based on current project circumstances) 7. Social Events - Once a while there is team events like dinner or lunch outside. Also they got Kabala party on most fridays which is kind of small feast.

Cons

The Cons:- 1. Dynamic Enviornment - There are things happening all the time like new people joining, old people leaving, people travelling, people relocating, people being moved to different team, people being brought from different team, trainings, knowledge transfers, changing project plans, moving managements people, social events, town halls, lot of meetings, escalations etc etc. 2. Very less social interactions - This is most likely bcoz of dynamic env i mentioned above. There isn't time for social interactions - even if you have it it gets into work related stuff. This is more true of people with 5+ years of experience who wants to spend strictly 9 hours in office. 3. Challenging Work - Amdocs CES product is made of different sub-products some of them are build outside amdocs (by takingover other companies). New development is limited as product is build already - it just needs to be customized based on client need - THIS ISN'T EASY! 4. Bell curve - Below Expectation, Meets Expectation, Exceed Expectation. And people are forced into these 3 categories. Its decided mainly on basis of two factors - "how important are you for the project" and "what are the chances of you leaving company in coming few months". If you can learn things by your own and can become key resource to project (by keepting things to yourself) you qualify into "Exceed Expectation" 5. Retention plan - They have very flexible retention plan. People who are heading towords resignation and are need to be retained can be offered good choices like arount 40% hike, bonuses, quick onsites, future reloaction etc. Experienced people in Amdocs make good use of this. 6. Relocation - It depends on project circumstances. e.g. if there is crucial work in project and they need to pick one for relocation, it would be the one whose absence will not affect project delivery. Currently management is trying to correct this. 7. Appraisals - You growth is decided by 1:1 converstaion you have with your managers. This could be unfair specially if you dont have good repo with your manager. Also sometimes the feedback from Israel managers (home of Amdocs) takes priority over local managers. Also read again the bell cure and relocation points i mentioned above which also impacts your appraisal.
