Pros

- The pay and stock are great (if you can make it the years till they vest) - There's a lot of exciting stuff going on - There is opportunity to lean a lot

Cons

I know there's a joke about crying at your desk, but I've done it and I know 2 others that have as well. I know several people that have had to start taking medications for stress. The company is turning into Amazon proper with all the negative connotations that comes with that. People are expected to be 'always on' and I rarely see people being social or relaxing. There is a constant sense that you have to be working every minute of every day. Everything is moving towards "push push push, deliver deliver deliver". The good aspects of the company are being driven out. I see people burning out more and more and I know several that have just straight up quit to get out. The management "takes work/life balance very seriously" but doesn't actually want to take actions that help the root causes. There are a few good things, like 5-hour Fridays for a couple weeks in the summer, but they don't make up for burn out. I know teams that work 60-80 hours a week with little thanks. It's startup culture only without the sense of family. If you don't care about anything but work, it's a great place to be, but if you aren't interested in overworking and excess stress then you get put in the second row.

Pros

Good pay, part of amazon.I think that looks good on resume.Cool technology.

Cons

Management is a total BS. Very small office space and if not in a exec position, get ready to be berated even for making a small mistake.I think treating people like this provides very little leeway for improvement and innovation.would never like to work here again. Also no work life balance.Just take the money and leave. Everyone is terrified of being ranked too low and being put into a performance improvement plan which is a sure shot way to fire someone.

Pros

Lots of new grads with lots of energy. Being able to say you work with robotic software, hardware, and analytics is cool. Having worked at AR opens doors at other companies.

Cons

Amazon Robotics has adopted Amazon’s extremely Seattle-centric perspective: decisions need to go through people in Seattle. Scarce leadership and management training doesn’t provide the young front-line managers with the tools they need to effectively manage the very young employees. Like the management style, tech development is often seat-of-the-pants, with people using intuition instead of sound algorithm, software or engineering principles. While this could all lead to a fun, dynamic environment in a smaller place without cross-country oversight from a large corporation, AR has grown to the point that the resulting employee churn and lack of opportunities is making it stagnate.
