Pros

Work/family life balance in the department I worked in was great (a lot of PTO time, flexible hours); can sometimes work from home

Cons

Some members of upper management are very clueless as to what goes on in day-to-day business operations; some of my coworkers in other departments were consistently denied use of PTO time -it all depends on your manager. Lack of decent training for new hires. They won’t hesitate to close location and move out-of-state making you relocate or lose your job.

Pros

Amazing company, decent benefits, with a good core of employees who care and want to succeed.

Cons

A bullying top-down culture that micromanages and assumes the worst of their employees. As long as you fall in line life is good. Disagree or ask for help? You’ll be “put in your place quickly”. Micromanagement does nothing to improve performance or engagement. Management through bullying? Even worse. I’m in shock that a company of this size- the largest publicly traded insurance company can operate so poorly.

Pros

Once upon a time the company was very good to work for and retire . They used to provide great opportunity to learn and grow. People use to build life size friendships. It used to be a dream company to work for.

Cons

When they fall in love with a team they will provide everything to that team and rest of the company will be stripped of every benefit. Will discriminate between old employees saying they are legacy and new employees who are cool but needs to bribed with free breakfast and snack to make them work. First it started with culture and then cloud and now 2.0 for last three years they spent huge amount on those newly hired. They were provided all sorts of training and even allowed to travel to any conference anywhere in the world and now those leaders and employees are nowhere to be seen and existing employees under tremendous budget cuts. You also cannot be promoted unless you move to a different location you legacy employee. If you have a family and they are under health insurance employee has to pay more, but company doesn’t have to pay more to employees that have family to support.
