Pros

Most of the people working in Allianz Dublin are very friendly and helpful. I worked there for only a few months but made good friends with a few people. Good benefits after probation.

Cons

Very formal company. Staff had a dress code (no runners, no leather jackets, no bagpacks) although no face to face customer service was provided. Extreme focus on statistics and performance targets from day one. For that company, you are not a human being but a robot. It was a terrible and traumatizing experience to work for them.

Pros

This operating entity of Allianz says it is attempting a major culture shift. Top leadership wants to focus on customer centricity, innovation & technical competence, diversity and employee well being. 401k is generous, and vested after 3 years. Vacation time is generous. Relocation to global positions is encouraged.

Cons

Competence of execution is significantly lacking in technology and UW areas. Fear rules; longterm employees have survived by not asking clarifying questions. Leadership has not yet acknowledged the 'iron triangle' of Speed, Cost, and Quality; they do not seem to understand they only get to pick two. Employees are often jaded or frightened. Layoffs of what are believed to be overpaid employees in the western US are ongoing, but positions remain open for months in the mid West and Eastern states.
