Pros

I joined AlixPartners in April of 2000. There is a lot that I've liked about the company but the one area that has shined the most is the firm's approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Before AlixPartners, I worked at two other prominent management consulting firms. Both talked about DEI but rarely did I see real examples beyond affinity group events and lunch & learns. AP has felt different. The actions match the words. Daily, I observe and experience real attempts, at all levels of the organization, to embed DEI in our work and the behaviors. The firm is active in keeping it's diverse employees while also taking a visible position in recruiting a diverse workforce. Most importantly, EVERYONE feels like they can contribute to the progress. I am not saying it's perfect, but in my 15+ years of consulting, I have personally never felt this level of optimism and excitement about a company's ability to achieve it's DEI goals.

Cons

Sometimes it can feel like we are working in silos. It would be good to have more engagements where I am interacting with colleagues from other business or practice areas.
