Pros

One thing that always impresses me is the quality of the people that I work with. The work's challenging, but varied, and the "one firm" mindset (aided by the firm having a single global P&L) does actually mean that separate geographies work together fluidly, with minimal internal politics

Cons

Hours can be quite intense, but the firm has recently gotten a lot better with regards work-life balance and flexibility.

Pros

- Real "Family Feeling" in the European offices - Great CEO, with strategic vision - and is a genuine, nice guy who speaks with everyone in the firm - Ability to work on projects across multiple disciplines. Projects are very important, high stakes matters. Great experience. - Really smart people work at AlixPartners - Great bonuses relative to other consulting firms, and comp is much better than big 4 - Annual company retreats are very fun (some specific groups have other trips like golfing in South of Spain, skiing in Austria, etc.)

Cons

- The small, senior heavy teams the firm prides itself on make life tough for junior staff...you are definitely thrown into "sink or swim" situations...but most at the firm are able to figure it out and deliver. The firm is recognising that to grow, more junior staff must be hired. I think a challenge is how the firm will adapt to the change in team dynamics, as junior staff need proper mentoring, training, etc. - Compensation is incredibly opaque...person working at the same level in the firm can have up to 50% difference in comp
