High attrition right now due to:
- low salary compared to other consulting firms - they keep on talking about giving consultants market adjustments, but realistically it is mainly geared towards people who are looking to leave. They say that in exchange for low salary, employees get to work from home but that's not unique anymore since other firms have virtual teams too
- promotions does not equate a big salary bump: they prefer that you perform at least a year before getting the title, once promoted the salary increase is similar to a normal merit increase (1-5%)
- leadership - lots of changes to leadership causing uncertainty. Of course, after becoming Public, everything has to be thoughtfully played out.
- quarterly bonus structure - changed the bonus structure, but still not as competitive as other companies. Bonus is partially dependent on the financial health of the practice, so if we don't meet the goals, we can potentially not get any bonus at all even if they consultants worked very hard and delivered. Bonuses payout are often delayed, this may improve once they are familiar with the new process
- high turnover resulted in a lot of workload on remaining workforce, making them feel burnt out.
- PTO: time off is based on tenure, you can negotiate your package for more time off. However, PTO does not roll over to the next year, so you must use it or you'll lose it.
- Healthcare package - Alight doesn't pay much of the healthcare package or they did a bad job negotiating, employees have to pay a lot for normal healthcare
