      Great company, but going thru a lot of changes

      Pros

      Great people, great benefits. A lot of long time employees. Alcon has a history of strong performance and treating their employees right. Leader in their industry.

      Cons

      A lot of changes. Layoffs, limited spending on development. They need to get back to the way they used to run the business. Novartis has handicapped Alcon and is too much into their business.

      Pros

      Their Benefit package is better than average.

      Cons

      Complete disregard for employee training. Lack of vision by executive leadership team. Executive management has no clue what kind of in house talent they have and are outsourcing many positions, even Safety positions, that are better done by the people they already had. Moral is the lowest it has ever been. I am staying in hopes that the rumors are true and Novartis sells Alcon in Q1 of 2017. That will be the best thing that could ever happen to Alcon. Novartis has all but ruined what used to be a great company.

      Pros

      Great company to work for back in the early 80s through the late 2010....always in top 100 companies to work for in the US.

      Cons

      Changed after by out by Novartis and emplyee moral dropped.
