      Going down the tubes since the buyout

      Pros

      Great people, very dedicated, top-notch employees.

      Cons

      Lost the appreciation for good people when sold off at Wall Street. Long time employees laid off and temp contractors brought in. Many alumni had been there 20+ years and had built this dynamic company. High tension and stress now in many divisions.

      Too many supervisors per shift and no area of responsibility

      Pros

      Great pay and benefits. Pension plan is good as well as the cost of benefits. Everyone is committed to the product and the patient.

      Cons

      No true area of responsibility therefore no clear expectations for a supervisor. Managers continue to operate in their own silo. Promotions are just give to hand picked individuals. Plant manager does not hold managers accountable for poor output and yields.

      Pros

      Outstanding name in the industry with surgical optometry equipment and products.

      Cons

      Their digital team is in complete shambles. The Ft Worth location is all about politics and is one of the worst work environments I have ever seen. If your looking at any position in Digital Health there, think long and hard about it. They play games, lie, and will stab you in the back in a second if it gets them ahead. Senior leadership is oblivious to the catastrophe this division is in because they are not being told the truth about those products and the challenges they face in the field.
